Picture
The Turks and Caicos is a British Overseas Territory and have 40 different islands and cays in their
chain and only eight are inhabited.
Grand Turk is the capital island of the Turks and Caicos. Cockburn Town has a population of close
to 4000 people and is the central hub of activity, this is a very picturesque town with its old colonial
        buildings and ruins.

The Grand Turk Cruise Center has a 3000 foot pier and many large cruise ships dock here including
the Queen Mary ll, at this cruise center is just about everything a vacationer would want.

At the Turks and Caicos National Museum there is much to see including the story of the Molasses
Reef  Wreck which is the oldest shipwreck discovered in the Western Hemisphere and this happened
                                                                                                about 1505.

There are about 107 restaurants on Turks and Caicos islands ( for a complete listing of restaurants)

A big attraction is to see migrating Humpback Whales which can be seen in January through early
April, these giants of the ocean can be seen around the islands of Grand Turk and Salt Cay and they
are best seen on a whale watching trip which will be educational as well.
