Welcome To Quebec
The St Lawrence River flows through the province of Quebec and is one of the longest rivers in the world nine hundred and ninety five miles long and flows through two of the biggest cities in Quebec, the largest city is Montreal with one million six hundred thousand people and the second largest city in Canada. The second largest city in Quebec is Quebec City with six hundred sixty thousand people.
Quebec City is one of the most visited cities in Canada and I might add one of the most beautiful cities in all of Canada. Old Quebec with its European charm will take you back in time with its narrow cobblestone streets and old architecture, this is a must see place and designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site. I want to mention a couple of attractions, Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church the oldest stone church in North America was constructed in 1688. Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre shrine, North America's oldest pilgrimage site receives over one million visitors every year. The annual Winter Carnival is a very popular event (end of January), there is plenty of snow for the carnival Quebec City gets over fourteen feet of snow every year.
Montreal is a fun city with many festivals and attractions, and Montreal has the distinction of being one of the top party towns in the world. If you speak French you will feel at home Montreal is the second largest French-speaking city after Paris.
On both sides of the St Lawrence heading north are scenic roads that go to the tip of the Gaspe Peninsula and Labrador, driving through small villages that take you back years ago, how good is that !!!
