The North Dakota State fair for 2012 is July 20-28. This is a big deal in North Dakota with State Championship Final Rodeo and star entertainers in addition there are more than 30 county fairs for dates go to; ndfairs.org North Dakota is home to many Native American Indian tribes. there are approx. 14 Indian Tribes that reside in North Dakota, and visitors are able to explore the reservations and learn much about their way of life. hand -made crafts are available to purchase. There is a new attraction at Earthlodge Village at new Town at Lake Sakakawea. If any of you would like to experience Native American food, I would recommend going to a pow-wow, we will list a few for you. Nue'ta Corn Festival in August, Mid-Winter Pow Wow on the day of New years Eve, Twin Buttes Pow Wow in June and United Tribes International Pow Wow in September. There are many people of German-Russian ancestry in North Dakota and they have many great foods, some favorite's are Knoepfla Soup, Fleischkuchle and Kuohen, many of these favorite foods can be found in the city of Beulah. Kroll's Kitchen restaurants serve Knoepfla soup in Fargo and Bismark, many other German-Russian dishes are served as well. In New Leipzig the Leipziger Hof Restaurant is very popular for German-Russian dishes.
