Maryland like some of the other states has some unique places such as the Chesapeake Bay which is the largest estuary in the United States.
Some of the activities on Chesapeake Bay include fishing, sailing, also there are charter boats available for fishing ( Charter Fishing Directory) make sure you have fishing regulations and licensing requirements as is required. There are many historic places in Maryland such as Civil War Trails and the National Road to mention a few. One place that is popular is the Brunswick Railroad Museum. Also there are many vineyards and museums in Maryland. Baltimore is one of America's oldest seaports, and there is much to do in Baltimore.
