Finland is an outdoor paradise with about 188,000 lakes (about 10% of the country). Many Finns have a summer cottage and they go to during the warmer season for swimming, fishing, barbecuing and to enjoy their sauna, and other activities. Finnish cuisine is influence by neighboring countries, but with all of the lakes in Finland, fishing is a big part of their meals. Other food favorites served regularly are, meat stew, sausage, meat balls, rain deer, and Swedish hash are just some of the meat dishes served, also bread is served with every meal with rye bread being the most popular. Finns as a rule usually eat out only on special occasions, however there is one exception and that is at lunchtime. The Finnish government sponsored lunch coupon which is open to all. Every restaurant offers set price lunches for around 8 to 9 Euros, and this includes all restaurants, public cafeterias and university cafeterias. The cafe scene is alive and well in Finland, especially in Helsinki and yes Starbucks can be found in Finland. The Finns are the world's heaviest coffee drinkers, drinking 3 to 4 cups per day.
