Welcome To The British Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands is a paradise for sure, with more than 60 islands. The largest island Tortola is also
the capital of BVI. The beaches are white powdery sand and the water being crystal blue clear. BVI is a boat
lovers paradise with the islands closely spaced there are many sheltered coves and inlets and many mariners.
The perfect place for sailing and fishing for marlin and wahoo fish.
The other 3 islands that are the largest of the 60 island chain are; on Virgin Gorda there are many yacht clubs
luxury villas and resorts. Anegada is the only coral island in BVI it is nicknamed " The Drowned Land " do to
the fact that it is only 28 feet above sea level. On Jost Van Dyke island which is named after an early Dutch
settler and who was also a pirate, less than 300 people live here on this island and the highest point of land
is 1,054 feet.
The National Parks in BVI ( 21 parks in all ) is something the visitor does not want to miss, the parks are rich

Pirates visited BVI on many occasions, finally the English gaining control over the islands from the Dutch, French, Spanish and Danish. For some time there was
sugar cane production and rum production but now it is primarily tourism.
For beach lovers BVI is a great place to vacation with many water sports such as, swimming and swimming with dolphins, windsurfing, para sailing, sea kayaking,
surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and bone fishing.
