Welcome To The Bahamas

The Bahamas one of the popular islands in the Caribbean, which has about 700 islands and only 30 islands
inhabited. New Providence Island has the most population (240,000) and Nassau is the capital and where
most of the commercial activity takes place.
New Providence and Nassau have the two largest airports for commercial aircraft and some the other islands
have smaller runways for smaller planes.
The Bahamas is a popular stop over for cruise ships so there are many visitors on the islands.
Marine Habitat at Atlantis, Paradise Island which is ranked # 4 out of 287 attractions in the Bahamas, every
visitor to the aquarium was amazed with the marine life such as; dolphins, sharks, sting rays, and much
both adults and children enjoy the aquarium.
Some of the water sports that are popular are; kite boarding, kayaking, deep-sea fishing, island boat tours, dolphin tours, wave runners, the temperature is about
80 degrees F all year just right for water sports.
The most celebrated day in the Bahamas is "junkanoo" a street parade held on December 26th each year "Boxer Day" Bahamian's wearing disposable costumes of crepe paper and playing various music beats that much of the music originated from Africa. This is one day the people look forward too. After the parade they throw away their costumes. Calypso is a very popular music in the Caribbean but is played more in the Bahamas.
